Porco Rosso (1992)

Plot: Marco Rosso was an aviator during the war, but is now under a curse, giving him the facial features of a pig. Now known as ‘Porco’ Rosso, he lives the life of a Bounty Hunter, most spending his time chasing and humiliating the local Sea Pirates (who fly Sea-Planes).

Fed up with the antics of this flying pig. The Sea Pirates decide to hire Curtis, a famous American fighter pilot. His plan is to ruin the reputation of this Pig headed bounty hunter. When Marco is flying his plane to Milan for repairs, Curtis deliberately shoots down Marco’s. Taking refuge Marco manages to fool Curtis into believing that he’s slayed the mighty bounty hunter.

When arriving in Milan, he delivers the remainders of his plane to his favorite mechanic, Piccolo. When expecting Piccalo and his two sons to repair the plane, he is introduced to a feisty red head called Fio. Fio being a skilled mechanic, she insists on rebuilding Porco’s plane. Plot: Hong Kong cops ‘Curry Chicken’ Chiang Li-Chi (Stephen Tung) and Chin Chian (Jacky Cheung) spend their time working on cases with their boss the virtuous Shooter Yin (Lam Ching-Ying). They are soon introduced to Chin’s cousins Chi Chiang and Chi Shu. Brother and Sister; Chiang and Shu have traveled from Canton coming over to visit, although they have just arrived in time for a big case.

Notorious Gangster Lau Tin-Hau a force to be reckoned with, especially with his highly skilled gun-slinging bodyguard. Curry and Chin are brought on the case to investigate the murder of Hau’s old boss. The murder takes place at a Gigolo night club called ‘Dream Boy Bar’, at first they attempt to go undercover as gigolos wanting a job at her nightclub.

The case becomes more difficult when more bodies appear in the wake of Hau and his hitman. With Curry, Chin and Yin’s colleagues loosing faith in them, they are sent on leave until the case blows over.

Beethoven (John Shum) and Ah-Chiu (Richard Ng) are to two women loving cops who cant stop playing pranks on each other. One day after being tipped off by Wen (Tai Bo) on a drug deal. They suddenly jump to action (both hoping for a promotion) and stop the superstar ‘Sha’ (Peter Chan Lung), although he is clean, no evidence of any dealing at all and the two cops are left looking stupid. Now given the mission to find evidence enough to put the evil Sha in jail, for good!

Both Chiu and Beethoven are also looking for love. Chiu starts a steady relationship with the Iron Lady, Anna (Deanie Yip). Set in Canada, Bo (Sammo Hung) is an ex-light weight-boxing champion who has ran himself into debt by gambling on the horses. He attempts to make money by being a guinea pig for scientist, basically being a pincushion for students learning acupuncture.

Running low on money and ideas, Bo talks to his uncle Tsai at the local boxing club and asks if there was any work for him, unfortunately no, but he insisted that he could make some good money taking part in a paper marriage.

Bo meets Jade (Maggie Cheung), from Hong Kong. She is being set up with Bo so that she can stay in Canada and live with her boyfriend, Peter (Alfred Cheung). Peter promises Bo a good couple grand to go through with this marriage, although after the wedding, Peter flees and leaves both Bo and Jade.

Peter leaves a message saying he ran into debt and he can’t come back for Jade. Jade is devastated and now she has to live with Bo to keep the immigration office at bay. Now desperate for money, Bo re-enters the boxing ring to get some money. He finds out that if he beats his ex-wife’s (Joyce Godenzi) new boyfriend, Billy (Billy Chow) he will get all his debts cleared. Jade even does her part by competing in a mud wrestling competition…
