“14 Blades” flying your way this August!

Kill Zone (2005)

Plot: Detective Chan (Simon Yam) is forced into a early retirement when he diagnosed with a  brain tumor. This was discovered when he was involved in an car  crash when transporting valuable witnesses to court. Our antagonist, notorious gang leader Wong Po (Sammo Hung) is released from prison when his witnesses died in the crash.

Cine-Asia prepare for their next big DVD Release this month. Already playing in selected cinemas across the United Kingdom, Ip Man (Winner of Best Picture & Best Action Choreography at the 2009 HKFAs) starring Donnie Yen (fan favorite!), Simon Yam (Election & The Sparrow) and Fan Siu-Wong (Righting Wrongs & The Story of Ricky) and directed by Wilson Yip (Dragon Tiger Gate and Bullets over Summer) will most likely be CA’s most popular DVD Release this year.

Being released on two disc DVD (RRP of £15.99) and single disc Blu-Ray (RRP of £19.99) on 26th October.

As the Stoo is away (enjoying social life instead…Guitar Hero) for the opening of the show there will be no Storm Warriors gushing for our demoted host as Ken and Mike open an echoey (sorry about that) first 12 minutes with trailer discussion of hot movies coming out of Asia. Eventually some of them will reach the UK so the trio share their thoughts and covers the current cinema climate for Asian cinema in the UK. There’s also a feelgood story within in the plugging so join us the entire way through why don’t ya?

STFU! – Ip Man (2008)

This weeks “Stoos Top Fights Unleashed!” is from last years bone crunching biopic masterpiece Ip Man, starring our man Donnie Yen!

Setting the Scene: The Japanese army have occupied China; Japanese soldiers are rounding up Chinese martial artists making them fight against black belt karate fighters for the amusement of General Miura (Played by Hiroyuki Ikeuchi). Bags of rice are given out to the Chinese fighters if they manage to beat their soldiers.

Our leading man Ip Man (Played by Donnie Yen) has no choice but to watch in terror as one of his peers shot dead after loosing a spar against three Japanese solders. Ip Man gets the chance to avenge his fallen martial brother by offering to fight against ten Soldiers. Read More

Dragon Tiger Gate (2006)

Plot: Dragon Tiger Gate is a martial arts school founded by two kung fu masters; Wong Jianglong (Yuen Wah) and Wong Fuhu. They teached martial arts to the public to stop them from being bullied from triad gangs. Wong Fuhu (to whom you never see) has two sons, Dragon Wong & Tiger Wong, the eldest being Dragon. When they were young Dragon is taken away from ‘the Gate’ by his mother to lead a peaceful and respectful life. Read More
