In this episode we’re looking at The Magnificent Trio, a milestone in the studio’s early wuxia cycle where Chang Cheh takes a cue from Japan’s Three Outlaw Samurai.

We’re also giving a spotlight to two other early Chang Cheh films from this period: 1965’s The Butterfly Chalice, a huangmei opera that somehow fits both musical numbers and a face split in half, and 1967’s Trail Of The Broken Blade, made during the same year Chang Cheh became a household name with One-Armed Swordsman.

With a list that will wet anyone’s appetite, is it safe to assume this boner-inducing list of movies will produce actual dvd releases? Mike also recommends a lot of Mainland Chinese Martial arts and a lot of movies in general while Stoo gets a title to go with his supreme Young And Dangerous-knowledge. Acronyms are fun.
