Oh you lucky people in Somerset. On Friday 30th July at the Somerset House courtyard Film4 will be opening with Quintin Tarantino’s Kill Bill Volume One at and then followed up by the might Enter the Dragon. We’ve copied this note from the Film 4 Website;
Kill Bill: Vol. 1 & Enter The Dragon screen on Friday 30 July at Somerset House, the UK’s largest outdoor cinema. Somerset House is a spectacular neo-classical building in the heart of London, sitting between the Strand and the River Thames. Doors open 18.30, DJs from 19.30 and films start at 21.15. You are welcome to bring your own rugs, blankets and cushions to sit on (sorry no chairs, or portable furniture – inflatable or otherwise).

Manga Entertainment have wrangled the rights and now releasing “Kamui: The Lone Ninja” on DVD and Blu-Ray this August.
Based on the famous Manga series written by Sanpei Shirato, “All Under the Moon” director Yoichi Sai. The movie is lined up with the cream of the crop in Japanese Cinemas next generation of big actors; Death Notes; Ken’ichi Matsuyama, Sukiyaki Western Django’s Koichi Sat as well as Ekin Cheng. Yes you read that right, Hong Kongs own; Ekin Cheng makes an appearance in this movie, I don’t know yet how long an appearance the main man has but hey, my opinion of this movie has improved 100% already.
Kamui: The Lone Ninja is set for a UK release on August 9th on – £19.99 on Bluray and £15.99 on DVD.
Set in period China, our story revolves around Hua Mulan (Vicki Zhao), a young tomboy, rather than looking for a husband, she has spent her life learning martial arts. When the emperor orders all able men to enlist in the army, Mulan discusses takes the place of her ill father (Yu Rong-Guang).
Mulan is accompanied by her childhood friend Tiger (Jaycee Chan), the two befriend General Wentai (Chen Kun). Casshern director Kazuaki Kiriya has returned with visually stunning Goemon. Momentum Pictures noticed this and are now planning a UK release for “Selected Cinemas”, boo. For the lucky “Selected” people will be released on 23rd July 2010! So this is obviously leading to a UK DVD/BL release later this summer. If you aren’t familiar with Goemon or Casshern, here’s the best 4 minutes out of the 142.
