Axis of War: Night Raid (2008)

In the final instalment of the Chinese Axis trilogy. Night Raid follows the soldiers in the 769th Regiment as they discover a Japanese airfield at Yangmingbao in the Shanxi Province. The story follows the dramatic journey of the soldiers as they plan their suicide mission against the Japanese forces.

Director An Lan, a fairly undiscovered series of films that have appeared from nowhere! From the impression I’ve gotten the impression that these movies aren’t related.

The movies story was interesting, the first half wont pick your interest until half way through. The acting was great, facts on this movie are very thin, but the performances from the Captain, the female reporter and the comical bloke who narrowly survived an attack and when the Night Raid finally commences, it will leave you on the edge of your seat!

If you have any interest in the series go for it! I’m definitely renting the first two parts of the series.
