Ah Sou (2005)

Plot: Triad Gang Boss – Gent (Eric Tsang) and his three buddies, Whacko (Anthony Wong), Chance (Simon Yam) and Buddy (Alex Fong). Gent is confronted by a dying man – Shade (Dick Liu), he had foolishly killed the husband of gang boss – Nova (Karena Lam), in retaliation Nova has killed off all of his family, except from his young daughter – Phoebe. Shade pleas for Gent to take Phoebe as his own, saving her from Nova.

Gent agrees and warns Nova that when Phoebe is 18, he will marry her and Nova mustn’t dare attempt to kill his future wife, or else!

Fast forward ten years, Phoebe (Annie Lui) has returned from studying in USA with her personal bodyguard Pilot (Liu Yu). She’s developed a close father/daughter bond with Gent and treats Whacko and the rest as uncles. After some unfortunate circumstances she finds herself taking over the triads from Gent and with Nova returning to the scene, things can only get worse… Read the rest of this entry »

Young and Dangerous: The Prequel (1998)

Plot: When school students; Ho-Nam (Nicholas Tse), Pau-Pan (Tsui Ka-Ho) and Chow-Pan (Benjamin Yuen) are kicked out school and are constantly being bullied by the local triad gangs, they have no choice to join them. The gangs friend Chicken (Sam Lee) introduces them to Brother Bee (Ng Chi-Hung), a nobale and resecpted member of the Hung Hing.

The boys are then introduced to the glorious sights of the underworld, going to night clubs, massage parlours and bath houses. All these things can’t last though Brother Bee decides to test the new blood by having them attack a rival gang leader – Bill. After carefully planning the attack out, the boys enjoy up having to attack the gang leader with bamboo canes rather than the much preferred ‘Triad Choppers’, after taking a few good stabs at Bill they final manage to kill him, but their luck turns against them when members of his ‘Tung Sing’ gang are waiting for Ho-Nam.

Ho-Nam and his friends barely manage to escape, but the consequences for their actions are yet to be dealt with when Bill’s brother – Sun Cha seeks vengeance against Ho-Nam. Read the rest of this entry »

Young and Dangerous (1996)

Personal Thought: Spawned from the ever so popular manga comic’s is the story of a group of rebellious teenagers who decide to choose the bad way to life. The consists of; Chan Ho-Nam (Ekin Cheng), Chicken (Jordan Chan), Pou-Pan (Jerry Lamb), Chou-Pan (played by Jason Chu) and Dan Tin Yee (Michael Tse).

After the strong beating by the leader of the group, Kwan (Francis Ng), Chan Ho-Nam and his friends decides to follow Brother Bee of the Hing Hung group (aka The Triads). Ten Years on Ho-Nam and his friends are a force not to be reckoned with, because they are the young and dangerous! Read the rest of this entry »
