Death Note (2006)

Plot: Light (Tatsuya Fujiwara) an intelligent young law student looses his faith in justice when he discovers a large percentage of the criminals in Tokyo can get away with murder. One night he discovers a black note book entitled “Death Note”, inside the notebook there are a list of instructions quoting “The human whose name is written in this note shall die.”

When touching the book he is introduced to a God of Death – Ryuk (Shido Nakamura), he had carelessly dropped the Death Note, but he allows Light to keep the book; “Finders, keepers”.

Unsure whether to believe the books supernatural powers he tries it out be writing down the name of a criminal he saw on the evening news. Shock Horror by the time he’s read the morning paper the criminal had died of a heart attack. With this new ability at his disposal he begins to deal out justice to all evil doers. Battle Royale 2 (2003)

3 years after the third Battle Royale, surviving students Nanahara Shuya (Tatsuya Fujiwara) has become the leader of a leading Anti-Battle Royale terrorist group. Although the ‘adults’ have come up with a new Battle Royale, version 2. In this act a group of rebellious students will be sent to the island where Nanahara is hiding out and the students are given three days to eliminate Nanahara Shuya.

Now the lucky students chosen for this years Battle Royale is a class of 42. The school is for students who are orphan, rebels or truants. One of the main class members are Takuma Aoi (Shûgo Oshinari), aka Taku. The also recently had gotten a transfer student, Shiori Kitano (Ai Maeda). You’ve guessed it, Shiori is the daughter of Takeshi Kitano…Nanahara’s teacher. She has signed herself up for the Battle Royale Act along with the school students, now she has only one ambition, kill Nanahara.

Battle Royale (2000)

This must be one of the most popular Japanese movies released into the international market and It should be. Based on a novel by Takami Koshun the story is about a group of school students going on their end of year school trip. Although the students are secretly drugged and then shipped to an abandoned island to take part in…Battle Royale

Battle Royale is a law which has been allowed by the government to allow a group of students to live on an island for three days to kick one another until there is one person left alive, they are all giving a bag, which contains a map of the island, a compose, food, water and a weapon (the weapons range from a Pot Lid to a Pump Action Shot Gun). Of course the students didn’t believe this at all until there teacher Mr. Kitano (played by ‘Beat’ Takashi) arrives and tells them there is no escape, unless they all die apart from one. Mr. Kinato seems ruthless to begin with as he kills two of the students, Sakura Ogawa (played by Tomomi Shimaki) and Nobu (played by Kukihiro Kontai). Read the rest of this entry »
