Hocus Pocus (1984)

Plot: A superstitious peeking opera team leader (Lam Ching-Ying) and his opera troupe become haunted by a ghost (actually played the director), when they accidentally perform their shows over the sprits grave.

Lam Ching-Ying plays the role of Mr. Sheng. After a past experience with Ghosts, Sheng has become very superstitious when it comes to the dead. Lam seems to handle the role with ease, the strict master feel. Although this film was done one year before the beloved Mr. Vampire. We even see Lam sporting the fuzzy/hedgehog hair style too.

Peeking Opera performers, Kuei (Tung Wai), Piao (Peter Chan) and Fung Lee (a.k.a. Kay Lay, A member of Sammo’s stunt group). Along with some other faces they spend most of their time showing off or playing pranks on one another. Although they accidentally disturb the odd ghost along the way. One other member of the group, Chia, who is known to steal the show is constantly. He turns out to be mocked and joked on by the others the most. But Chia looses his temper easy and gives out suddenly burst of energy and gives them a beating!

The main trouble causer of the film is a bullied ghost. Although having the body of a man (director – Chin Yuet Sang) the characters dialogue is all readout in a women’s voice. There’s always a price to pay when you hire an assassin, from 10 to hundreds of thousands of dollars. Recently a mysterious killer, known as the ‘Angel Of Death’ has appeared in Hong Kong. Asking no payment for his services because all of his targets are evil men and they deserve to die. The Angel of Death is considered to be The King Of Killers. Although no one knows the true identity of the Angel. This masked assassin is a force not to be reckoned with. The opening scenes of the film. The Angel of Death claims the life of a smutty billionaire, Mr. Tsukamoto. Pom Pom and Hot Hot (1992)

Plot: Hong Kong cops ‘Curry Chicken’ Chiang Li-Chi (Stephen Tung) and Chin Chian (Jacky Cheung) spend their time working on cases with their boss the virtuous Shooter Yin (Lam Ching-Ying). They are soon introduced to Chin’s cousins Chi Chiang and Chi Shu. Brother and Sister; Chiang and Shu have traveled from Canton coming over to visit, although they have just arrived in time for a big case.

Notorious Gangster Lau Tin-Hau a force to be reckoned with, especially with his highly skilled gun-slinging bodyguard. Curry and Chin are brought on the case to investigate the murder of Hau’s old boss. The murder takes place at a Gigolo night club called ‘Dream Boy Bar’, at first they attempt to go undercover as gigolos wanting a job at her nightclub.

The case becomes more difficult when more bodies appear in the wake of Hau and his hitman. With Curry, Chin and Yin’s colleagues loosing faith in them, they are sent on leave until the case blows over.
