Young and Dangerous: The Prequel (1998)

Plot: When school students; Ho-Nam (Nicholas Tse), Pau-Pan (Tsui Ka-Ho) and Chow-Pan (Benjamin Yuen) are kicked out school and are constantly being bullied by the local triad gangs, they have no choice to join them. The gangs friend Chicken (Sam Lee) introduces them to Brother Bee (Ng Chi-Hung), a nobale and resecpted member of the Hung Hing.

The boys are then introduced to the glorious sights of the underworld, going to night clubs, massage parlours and bath houses. All these things can’t last though Brother Bee decides to test the new blood by having them attack a rival gang leader – Bill. After carefully planning the attack out, the boys enjoy up having to attack the gang leader with bamboo canes rather than the much preferred ‘Triad Choppers’, after taking a few good stabs at Bill they final manage to kill him, but their luck turns against them when members of his ‘Tung Sing’ gang are waiting for Ho-Nam.

Ho-Nam and his friends barely manage to escape, but the consequences for their actions are yet to be dealt with when Bill’s brother – Sun Cha seeks vengeance against Ho-Nam. Read More

As usual expect spoilers…

The Last installment of the series turns out quite well, even though it misses one of its leading characters, Chicken, played by Jordan Chan. Chan Ho-Nam (Ekin Cheng) has met his match, yes someone following in his footsteps and is planning on replacing him for good. He is Szeto Ho-Nam (Mark Cheng), Szeto is a branch leader of the Tung Sing (known rivals of The Hing Hung). Szeto has joined forces with a Malaysian Business man who plans on clearing out the Hing Hung, just in time for the Lunar New Year!

New character, Big Head (Chin Kar-Lok) was sent to prison for manslaughter (This was a test as a Hing Hung Triad, where he was promised a promotion). The average sentence for Manslaughter is 4-5 years, although Big Head was sentenced to nine years instead. Since his release from prison he’s given up on being a triad and begins a tidy living as a news agent. Although he soon troubled by Tung Sing, after they trash his stall. But The Hing Hung come to the rescue and Big Head decides to follow Chan Ho-Nam once again…

The life story of the infamous Hung Hing branch leader; Sister Thirteen.

Thirteen (Sandra Ng) and her buddy Yun (Kirsty Yang) spend their days conning people of their money and annoying her father Tat (Ng Man-Tat) for more money. One night Thirteen and Yun attend a boxing race where thirteen falls for a Tun-Sing boxer called Coke (Alex Fong).

That night Tat ends up winning the mark six lottery, earning over $600,000. He’s so happy he ends up telling all his friends and even branch leader of a rival triad group (Luen Wo Group), the branch leader – SOB mugs Tat and steals his ticket from his leaving him in a beaten state. Yun wants to teach SOB a lesson, so Thirteen agrees to sell Yun to SOB as a prostitute, although Yun plans to take his money and sneak out the bathroom window when she gets the chance.

Things go wrong and Yun escapes, but Thirteen is captured. Being beaten to a pulp, Thirteen’s father, Tat comes to the rescue wielding a big knife.
