It's the old saying, "Horses for courses", I guess. No one is gonna want to spend time researching anything that doesn't really appeal. If your heart is not in it how can you give it your time? Personally I can take or leave Wong Kar Wai and I've seen most of his films. His influences are European art films and he wears his pretentiousness well. I do quite like "Chunking Express" but at the same time can instantly see why others wouldn't. I've got a copy of "In The Mood For Love" that came as a freebie with a Sunday paper a few years ago that I still haven't got around to watching. Maybe if Stoo places it as the HK film of the decade I may whip it on.

recently got Kung Fu Fever with Dragon Lee and Ron Van Cleef. Of course uses footage from Bruce Lee's funeral but damn it... exploitation fascinated me despite.

Could we also get opinions on best Bruce Lee impersonator (Aside from Sammo who was brilliant in "Enter The Fat Dragon") and obviously the worse? I've been watching Bruceploitation off and on for a long time. I even remember seing some of the early quick cash ins that were supposedly based on Bruce's life in the cinema.

And talking of Bruceploitation, has anyone seen the kinda Bruceploitation (it's a US comedy) The Call Me Bruce? and They Still Call Me Bruce ? (The first question mark is actually in the title )

Both hilarious in an after-five-pints-of-lager kinda way.

I saw both of them when they came out on VHS in the early eighties. Definitely not viewing for a sober mind. I don't think either have ever made it to DVD.
