Podcast On Fire 157: The Chinese Boxer & The Five Venoms

pof157

Jimmy Wang Yu was heading away from the eye of Chang Cheh’s by making his own, now classic kung-fu movie The Chinese Boxer and Chang Cheh had found new talents and vision at the end of the 70s that would lead to an impact in global popular culture through his 1978 classic The Five Venoms. The impact of the two works is discussed and dissected by Kenny B, Dr. David Lam and Tom K-W but not before the doctor shares what filth he watched last.

  1. Tim Chuma says:

Both great movies. I bought the Chinese Boxer by accident thinking it was One Armed Boxer under a different name. Ye Olde Cauldron full of hot sand is always welcome. Also jumping up and punching a hole through the roof and leaving people shaped holes in walls.
